Speaking Engagements
Overview
I began speaking publicly after being contacted in 2016 by Legal at PlayStation about a website accessibility lawsuit. Though I was primarily focused on UX design, I discovered that accessibility is not just compliance-driven, but integral to successful design, broader user reach, and product innovation. With encouragement from Dr. Bruce at Georgia Tech and a growing passion for inclusive experiences, I committed to educating, inspiring, and collaborating with teams to embed accessibility and human-centered design into every product journey.

Why I Speak on UX & Accessibility
To prove that accessible design enhances overall usability — addressing the intricacies within extreme use cases helps us uncover insights that simplify and elevate the design experience
To make accessibility less intimidating — showing how designing inclusively is not a burden but an opportunity for innovation, brand differentiation, and user satisfaction
To bridge gaps between UX teams and diverse users — helping designers understand lived experiences, context of use, and how inclusive design impacts products and businesses alike
What Audiences Gain
Insight into how to integrate accessibility into design thinking, moving from “checklist” to “creative asset”
Practical strategies for engaging real users (including those with disabilities), conducting research, and building inclusive feedback loops
Inspiration and frameworks for making change within organizations, aligning UX, product, and business goals around inclusive design
Visibility into my personal work — including speaking about the development of the Access Controller at PlayStation, and real-world lessons in advocacy, process change, and cross-functional collaboration
